3 tips for satellite radio advertising

Business

If you use the medium of satellite radio to advertise properly, it can be incredibly effective and profitable. The key point of that statement is “if you use it correctly”. Simply throwing a message without much rhyme or reason for how the message is presented could be a costly mistake.

Let’s take a look at some ways to make a radio commercial that claims to broadcast via satellite radio more effective. These are in no way a “guarantee” of results, ultimately that depends on the consumer who chooses to have an interest in your product or service. These are some of the proven tactics that we have seen work and many others have worked when used in conjunction with a product or service in demand at the time.

  • Make an offer that no one can refuse. Make it good enough to attract people who may not have an urgent need for the product or service. Usually this involves giving away something for free. You have to give to receive, right? Giving something of value to a potential customer could be profitable in exchange for business in return. Remember that “information” can be valuable here, so a decent e-book or something like that may suffice.
  • Repeat contact information to the point where it sounds silly to you. When you “check” your commercial for the fourteenth time, you are probably thinking “do we really need to have the phone number that much? The answer is YES. If you want people to call you, they have to pick up the number to do it, that means putting it there a minimum of 3 times, and a maximum of … well … how many times you can include it while still transmitting your message.
  • Make sure you are on the stations that your customers listen to. If you’re chasing a 35-year-old woman, spreading your message on a conservative talk station is most likely not the most effective approach. Just because a station has “the largest number” of listeners does not mean that they will be the most selected for your product or service. Look at the type of person listening to a station, not the number.

Now that you know the basics of satellite radio advertising, you have extra ammo to make your campaign great!
