In the US alone, there are several things that show how much the EDM market is starting to grow in the country. Here are some statistics that show the impact that electronic dance music has had on the masses who listen to music every day.

GENERAL MARKET:

In 2018, Billboard published a market stat that demonstrated the value of the electronic dance music market. In this statistical state, the company shows a growth of 12 percent in a year where many changes took place with this musical revolution. Since then, EDM has been incorporated into various genres and sub-genres, though it has also made a name for itself. While the overall market has been growing, there are some sub-markets that have been incorporated into this market growth.

YOUTUBE SUBSCRIPTIONS

One of the biggest helpers in this growth of the EDM market was YouTube. In the last few years alone, YouTube has added at least three different areas of subscribers. It has seen a 60 percent growth in smartphones of all kinds, 77 percent in TVs, and 175 percent in all game consoles. YouTube versions of the released albums had grossed a total of 2.3 billion views. This is a combination of videos. This growth of EDM on YouTube has pushed up some numbers in the overall market.

FESTIVALS AND TICKETS

Another big supporter of this general growth trend in the electronic music department is festivals and tickets to various festivals and concerts. This means that 12 albums, covered in electronic dance music, sold enough albums to be in the top 100 albums for that year. Considering how many people were fascinated by music enough to buy albums, it’s just one of the reasons EDM has grown considerably in recent years.
