Does sign advertising work?

Digital Marketing

Advertising works when it comes to getting people’s attention and making them remember our products and services, but it all depends on what kinds of advertising ideas and gimmicks you have. The same goes for advertising with the use of posters. You need a good idea and a catchy sign to make your advertising work and well thought out and well executed printed signage can go a long way in your business sales or brand revenue.

Printed signage

Using printed signs for your advertising needs can work quite well if you know how to make them and where to place them. Your first concern when making digitally printed vinyl advertising signs is design. These designs should grab the attention of your target market, but they should be done in a way that they are not easily forgotten or dismissed as monstrosities. Where you put your printed signage is the next hurdle you need to tackle, and in order to get your billboard to do its job, you’ll need to know where your signs will get the most positive results. Depending on your product and your target market, the use of billboards may work for you.

Give your customer what they need

Another factor that affects the effectiveness of your billboards is whether you answer questions and address the needs of your customers. Having eye-catching and attractive printed signage may get their attention, but will it click into their minds as something worth remembering? It will do so if it responds to a need they have or a question about what you offer. When you post digitally printed vinyl signage in a ballpark or vehicle, you should at least answer one question they have about some of your needs. When you have created your sign, you will need to tell your sign maker what you need and discuss the possibilities for your signs. The more suitable your sign is for what your customers want and need, the more successful you will be in advertising.

Use easy-to-read fonts

While you may like fancy fonts and your brand is written in elaborate font, you may want to consider a simpler font for your message on printed signage. Remember, not everyone can easily decipher those elaborate scripts or wavy fonts and using a simpler font will work better for you as it makes more people understand the message you are trying to convey. You may also need to use fonts that are neither too big nor too small to read, which caters for people who may have a hard time reading smaller fonts or those who find it irritating to look at large print. Another tip when it comes to the fonts you use for your printed signage is to use consistent fonts, not hyphens on one side and then block letters on the other side. This can easily confuse a potential customer and cause them to ignore your signage, rendering it ineffective and a wasteful expense.
