In constant battle

So, let’s be honest with each other. Staying on the narrow path is not easy in today’s world. Well, there are those lucky enough for whom it seems easy, but for most of us it is a constant battle.

The devil knows exactly what our weak points are. Keep hammering at that exact spot with a small hammer, hoping to knock down the wall at one point or another. And these are often not so-called “wrong side of the fence” issues.

No, it can be things like working harder. Spend more time realizing your dreams. Just work a little harder to get the next bonus. And without realizing it, we turn away from God, because many other things in our lives become more important than Him.

It is also true that some things creep into your life. Without you realizing it, they become an addiction over the years and suddenly you have a problem.

I want to repeat it, it is not easy to walk in the middle of the road. We quickly get angry and say and do things that are not right. Our business is under pressure and then we are forced to do things that are not right.

Sometimes our marriages and relationships go through tough times and then we look for solutions in the wrong places, ending up in a big mess. There are probably thousands of examples of things that are not part of the world of light and that we face every day.

What do you struggle with?

It is not that easy.

We must realize that it is difficult, that it drains your energy and, yes, sometimes it is a great struggle to stay on the straight and narrow path. 11So let’s go on like this and finally get to the resting place, let’s not give up because of some kind of disobedience. We must push ourselves, try our best, do our best, work our fingers to the bone, to make sure we don’t miss our goal.

It is a full time job. The world is like a magnet trying to push you away and out of God’s way. We must know that. We must be prepared for that. We must take it into account. We must be armed against that. And when temptations come our way, we must completely uproot them from our lives.

Yes, we all know and believe with all our hearts that Jesus has already prepared our place in heaven and that we do not have to do anything to enter heaven. Jesus already did that for us on the cross.

However, we must be on guard against being blinded by the world and taking the wrong paths. It is a fight between life and death. A constant battle. May the Spirit of God help us in this battle, because we are simply too weak to do it on our own.

Father, I must confess that I often struggle not to make wrong decisions. I struggle with this regularly. Please help. In the name of Jesus, amen.
