Now imagine if you could write dozens and dozens of articles! Article marketing is a lucrative business if you do it right.

Put article marketing on steroids, and you could have yourself a very productive source of income.

Now, how to milk the dairy cow? Follow the Top Ten Rules of Article Merchandising faithfully and you could become a Net Celebrity in no time.

1. Follow the submission guidelines, such as when to submit your article, in what format to submit it, and whether to provide editors with a copy of your resume. If you don’t follow the rules from the start, editors won’t trust you for future work, and your article will be removed before it’s even been read.

2. Format your article correctly. Use a text editor to write your article, such as Notepad. This will allow publishers to copy and paste your article directly onto a web page if they like. Remember: make life easier for your bosses and you will be rewarded.

3. The article is the star, not you. Although your first motive is to advertise, remember that the medium for that advertisement is a cleverly written informative article.

Your signature should not be longer than five or six lines and should contain the most important information about you. This will include your name, profession, email address and web address, if you have one.

4. Start your article attractively, with a descriptive and intriguing title and an attention-grabbing first paragraph. It will take readers 15 seconds or less to determine if they should go ahead and read your article to the end, so catch them firsthand.

Remember, your signature is at the bottom of the article, so take your readers there!

5. Check your grammar and spelling! Don’t be careless with your words. If your rhetoric can’t hold water, how do you expect editors to trust you with the facts? It may seem insignificant, but your grammar and spelling are important, so use the spell checker and edit your article.

6. Publishers look for quality content, so write your article with a sincere desire to inform. Don’t write a sales letter, or you will alienate both editors and readers. Simplify your language: readers don’t want to read the next James Joyce or Norman Mailer. They just want to do their research, so help them out.

7. Avoid referring to an affiliate website. Your article will seem biased and it will seem like you don’t know anything about the topic.

8. Keep your paragraphs down to two or three short sentences, so there are more empty spaces for your readers’ eyes to rest on. Use techniques, such as bullets or numbering, to separate the data.

9. Keep it short and sweet. Your article should be between 500 and 750 words, with lots of white space.

10. Promote it! Once you’ve edited your article and made it electronically friendly and thought-provoking, look for publishers who might be interested in it. You can publish your articles on your website or submit them to article ad groups online.

Now imagine how many 750 word articles you can write. Practice your trade. Do some more research. Spread the word about yourself!

Boost your writing on steroids and watch your signatures storm the search engines – your skills, after all, deserve the fame.
