Laser liposuction

Arts Entertainments

Looking good varies in importance from one person to another. So for people who find it important enough to shell out a lot of money to look good, there is a relatively new development they can try: laser liposuction. It’s something that has been causing quite a stir among fat melting fans around the world. Apparently, it is a great improvement over the old liposuction methods.

The differences between the two are numerous, from the method to the payback period. Read on and see what laser liposuction brings to the table in terms of fat removal method.

The Tale of the Tape

Let’s start with a simple method comparison. Old fashioned liposuction is a heavy duty surgery that requires general anesthesia, which means they need to knock you out to do it. The fat is essentially sucked out, leaving a lot of flabby and flabby skin where the fat used to be. This is done with a narrow tube that tends to scar where it enters. Traumas are expected, as well as some bruising, although most people can return to work within a week. The average liposuction of the abdomen easily costs around six thousand dollars, perhaps more depending on where it is performed.

Now to laser liposuction. Laser or SmartLipo liposuction only requires local anesthesia, which is safer and tends to bring fewer complications to the game than previous liposuction. There is some tension in the skin where lasers are used. Due to the use of lasers, very little trauma is inflicted on the body, which means that recovery is much faster.

The fat itself is removed from the incisions or carefully aspirated. It is much easier than previous liposuction, as the laser has already broken down the fat into liquid form, making it much less harsh on the body than if you were removing solid fat. You won’t even need stitches; you can go to work in a day or two. It’s even cheaper, despite the image of a lightsaber: five thousand dollars for a shot to the abdomen.

So in addition to being elegant, safer and cheaper

If you’ve ever seen an old liposuction video in a documentary, in person, or on television, you know how brutal it looks. Actually, it looks like they are sticking a vacuum cleaner in your gut to clean it. It’s not even accurate as people can only do so much, no matter how good, with their hands. You can cut a few things. Much collateral damage can be expected, leading to the need for general anesthesia and a longer recovery period. Laser liposuction is more accurate. Brute force is no longer necessary, allowing precision and control that a hose cannot.

Interestingly, this ease makes the entire procedure shorter. Older liposuction methods, as mentioned, can leave the skin loose where the fat used to be. This, then, requires another procedure to get rid of unsightly flaps, often a face or neck lift or a tummy tuck where the fat used to be to make it look more attractive. With the laser, you also end up tightening the skin, as part of the procedure.

Detail of the subsequent procedure

As stated above, people who opt for laser liposuction can probably start working in a couple of days. However, compression bandages are still necessary, but for a much shorter time. Old liposuction has them on you for a month and a half, whereas laser liposuction requires it for about two weeks. The result is also generally permanent. Fat cells are limited in adults; people don’t actually get new fat cells, they just get fat cells that expand.

Concerns

Of course, with the advent of any kind of new technology comes polarization and care. While on paper, laser liposuction appears to be the best option, some experts are less than excited about its existence. While most of them admit that it is a potentially useful method, they do not see it as the second coming of liposuction. Some of them don’t even think that it will ever replace the old type of liposuction; not soon at least. Even the people who propose laser liposuction are careful in their claims, considering it a breakthrough in technology rather than a miracle.

Turn them on

But is it for you? The best way to find out is simply to consult a doctor. Perhaps, there is something about your body in particular that lends itself better to older and more expensive liposuction. Perhaps it would be best to put your body under the tender care of a technological advantage.

Whatever the case, it’s still a huge investment of time, money, and some pain. Make sure it’s really what you want before you go to the doctor’s office for laser liposuction.
