Hello everyone. Today I am going to share with you a powerful and quick weight loss tip that I use with all my patients in my clinic. What I have discovered about losing weight is that the most important thing to change is your mental habits. You may have the most knowledge about weight loss, but if you don’t change your mindset and put into practice some of the principles that help you lose weight effectively, you’ll be wasting a great deal of time and effort.

There are two types of patients I usually come across. One is a patient where you can give them the knowledge of weight loss and they put it into practice quickly and instantly. They can change clothes very quickly and eventually lose weight. Most of my patients are not like that. Most people are procrastinators. They can’t change habits and they can’t really put the knowledge into practice. I found this to be a very common problem and it was a real challenge for most of my patients. So, I discovered a very effective solution to help patients overcome this and it has also proven to be highly effective in changing habits.

It’s a principle I call ‘Micro Movement Goal Setting’. Now, let me give you some examples. Let’s say you had a goal of walking 20 minutes every day to help you lose weight. That is a great goal, but to achieve it, not many patients will put it into practice.

By using the Micro Movement Goal Setting System, what you will be doing is breaking that goal down into a very small size goal. Instead of walking for 20 minutes, set the goal “I’ll put my walking shoes on the first day. That’s it.” I also suggest you write this goal in a journal. So on day one, the simple goal is to put on your walking shoes and nothing else. That’s the only goal, but it’s a micro goal. It is only a small fraction of the entire system.

Now, the result will be very interesting and will change your whole way of thinking. First of all, it is such a small achievement that anyone can do it. This would give you a confidence boost upon achieving it. You’ll also be able to avoid the mentality that the goal is too big, I don’t think you can do it.

Once habits are changed and real goals are set, everything will be easy. When performing the ‘Micro Movement Goal Setting System’ it is a very self-reinforcing habit that makes you feel encouraged with the small achievement you have achieved. I also want to add that there are other ways to empower yourself to achieve these goals. Some of them are prayer, affirmation, inspirational music, and visualization. This will help you get motivated before you actually try to reach the goal. Still, nothing compares to the critical step of taking the first action toward your goal.
