Valentine’s Day: 5 Tips for Planning the Perfect Valentine’s Day

Relationship

Start the holiday season off right by planning your Valentine’s Day a little further in advance than most people. By doing this, you will save precious time and money.

1. Set aside a time when you know you won’t be distracted or have other obligations to attend to. Maybe this means getting up an hour earlier or staying up later. On a work day maybe you take your lunch to the car one day and eat and plan alone. Remember that we are only planning for this Valentine’s Day once. It’s not like it’s going to be an everyday occurrence!

two. Get ready to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day. If you wake up at 5 am, prepare a nice cup of something hot that you can drink while you plan. Also play quiet music if possible. Think about why you love your boy. What has he done to make your life special and more enjoyable? Getting into a positive and loving state of mind will do wonders for your planning. You will feel more excited and creative and this planning process will go well.

3. Come up with a list of the things your guy likes, as well as the things he doesn’t like. Then, as you brainstorm ideas, you can quickly eliminate them if you fall on the “don’t like” side.

Four. Consider where you want to celebrate Valentine’s Day, what time of day it will be, how long you’ll have, and what the weather will be like. If you have kids, you’ll need to wait until they’re in bed and do something around the house or find a babysitter so you can go out, or have the house to yourself while they’re gone. No kids, that will make planning easier for you! Will you be dining in a restaurant or at home on the patio or as an indoor picnic?

5. How is your budget? Do you feel a pinch? Then try to do something creative but easy on the wallet. Get out a pack of construction paper and some markers and cut out dozens if not hundreds of hearts! On each one write something special, funny or romantic. Then throw them in his car or spread them around his office. You will find them for weeks! If you have more wiggle room in your finances, buy a few bags of chocolate and turn them into words or hearts around the house.
