“Never Say Never” movie review

Paramount Films dropped its Justin Bieber documentary film branded “Never Say Never” in theaters this weekend. I watched it and thought it was quite interesting because it presented a deeper, “behind the scenes” look at the star’s rise to popularity and how it preserves his continued success.

It features, of course, Justin Bieber, however it also featured appearances from Miley Cyrus, her mentor Usher, Jayden Smith, Boys II Men, Sean Kingston and rapper Ludacris. The film rotated and showed scenes from Justin’s past, along with video clips from his concert tours. It also showed exactly how much work this 16-year-old has put into his career over an incredibly short period of time.

I mainly liked it when they showed scenes of him performing in talent shows before he became famous. He showed the wide range of songs and genres that he can really sing. It also featured video clips of him returning to his hometown after he became popular, and still hanging out with the same friends as any normal teenager.

The movie was remarkably interesting when it featured how it is found on YouTube. He and his mom put videos of him singing online on YouTube and got a ton of views. His current manager, Scooter Braun, found him there and got him talking to some people from the music world. Next thing you know, he was singing for R&B star Usher.

The movie showed how Justin was rejected by many labels before he could sign on. It wasn’t until he sang for Usher and earned it that things started to turn positive. From then on, Usher introduced him to producer LA Reid and blew him away.

He then showed video footage of how Justin had to wait a while before he could start recording his first album. When he finally did songs for the CD, he would go to every single radio station in the United States to sing for them. He impressed them, and the moment his popularity level started to rise due to all the promotion, they started playing his songs more regularly.

He showed footage of all the events he performs night after night, eventually adding up to hundreds of shows. He eventually had to take a break and cancel several concerts because his voice wore out. She showed him performing different concerts with Boys II Men, Miley Cyrus, Ludacris, Sean Kingsten and Jayden Smith.

I like how the documentary closed with Justin selling out his live performance of “Madison Square Garden” in 22 minutes. He put in his big performance, and little Jayden Smith joined in with a rap. Then Justin shut it down, performing his hit song called “Baby.”

I liked the movie. It offered what I thought it would be, which was an amazing inside look at Justin before he got huge, and lots of behind-the-scenes clips from his concert and his private life. Those kinds of documentaries are usually quite interesting to me, especially when it comes to a big superstar.

It reminded me a bit of those “E! True Hollywood Story” shows, accepting that Justin is probably one of the younger stars. I gave the movie a solid A rating.
