This means potential prospects aren’t just added to a list without notification. Instead, they are directed to a specific type of website that will allow them to decide for themselves whether or not they want to be added to that email list.
This does a few things…
First of all, your email list is now much more targeted compared to an email list that is full of “bought” leads. In the internet marketing industry I’m in, the amount of money you make is usually directly related to the number of people you have on your email list.
With that in mind, I’d rather have a list of 10,000 people who have gone through the opt-in email marketing process I explained earlier than a list of 100,000 people who were purchased from a major source somewhere.
Just having people raise their hand and request your emails means your list will be much more responsive and many times more profitable.
The second thing I like about optin email marketing is that it keeps you safe from any potential “SPAM” complaints because the only people who receive your emails are the ones who have specifically requested it.
SPAM is a big “no no” in the world of internet marketing.
Once people go to your special page and “sign up” for your emails (this is called a capture page, by the way), you now have the ability to send them related offers and earn money from the ones they buy from.
