If you’re looking for a bit more of a sports car, you might want to consider the cars offered in the 2008 BMW 3 Series. These cars come in four different body styles, including a station wagon, coupe, sedan, and a convertible with retractable hardtop. Each of the 3 Series models has a large 3.0-liter engine that features 6 cylinders. The 335s are actually turbocharged to provide a whopping 300 horsepower. Each of the cars in this series comes standard with a standard manual transmission; however, you can choose to have an automatic if you wish.

There are a variety of great safety features included in the 2008 BMW 3 Series cars that are sure to be a selling point. First of all, they come with excellent ABS brakes, special traction control, and an anti-skid system, which work together to prevent accidents. There are front airbags and side airbags that come standard on all of these models. All models, except convertibles, come with special tubular side airbags that are designed to protect the head and cover the front and rear rows of seats. Convertibles are equipped with special roll bars that come out of the headrests on reading if the car feels like it is going to tip over.

Inside

The interior of the 2008 BMW 3 Series is nothing less than what you would expect from a BMW. All 328s come with vinyl upholstery; however, the 335i comes with leather upholstery, and leather is optional on all cars in this series. You can also choose to have the special navigation system in the car, and if you get this option, you get the special iDrive system that also allows you to control communication, navigation, entertainment and more, all from the console. It may also have several optional features included, such as rear obstacle detection, active steering, BMW Assist service, adaptive cruise control, and special xenon headlights.

What you will pay

Of course, you’ll have to pay for all the technology and luxury that comes with the 2008 BMW 3 Series. The base price starts at over $ 30,000, and depending on the model and features you choose, you could end up paying close to $ 50,000 before that all is said and done. However, for the features, technology, and performance, most people find the price worth it.

Economy

If you’re interested in an inexpensive car that gets great gas mileage, this may not be your car; however, the cars in the 2008 BMW 3 Series do not perform that badly. Depending on the car’s engine, they average between 17-22 mph on the highway and slightly less if you’re driving around town. However, you will pay more for gas as these cars require you to put premium fuel on them.

Comfort and room

Most drivers will find the 2008 BMW 3 Series cars quite comfortable and spacious; however, for those who are very tall, it can be a bit narrow. People who are over 6 feet tall may find that they do not have enough head room; however, there is plenty of legroom available. While the front seats are quite roomy, the rear seats don’t offer as much room, especially for taller people. Even though the front seats move forward to assist the rear seat passengers in their exit, it still takes quite a bit of maneuvering to get out of the car. If you need some trunk space, you might be a bit disappointed, especially on the convertible model. The space in the trunk of the convertible is very limited, and even the other models also have quite small cargo spaces.

Like any car, the 2008 BMW 3 Series has its pros and cons. However, for those looking for cars with a sporty look on the outside and luxury on the inside, these cars definitely fit the criteria. So if you are looking for a luxury car with power and all the tech extras, you might want to consider purchasing one of these cars for yours.
