How to solve the error message Windows cannot find Copy.Exe?

This error message can appear when you try to open disks or folders. Here you will find a complete description and a solution for this problem. The fact is that copy.exe is one of the possible names for the Salga-A worm, also known as the Perlovga virus (usually classified as win32.Perlovga.A). Copy.exe is dangerous for your system threat and should be removed immediately. Other possible filenames for this worm include host.exe, xcopy.exe, temp1.exe, temp2.exe, and svchost.exe. The Copy.exe worm (or the Salga-A or Perlovga virus, which is the same) copies its references to autorun.inf files on different drives and creates subkeys inside them.

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerMountPoints2 key that makes this file the default autorun driver for all drives on your system (local drives like C, D, E, etc., CD/DVD-ROMs, removable drives like USB drives, etc.). So when you double-click on any drive, Windows runs Copy.exe file. Some antivirus remove it incorrectly, causing the error message “can’t find copy.exe” to appear.

4) Delete subkeys under HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerMountPoints2 key that are created by Copy.exe file virus.
