Nerja Apartment – Why rent an apartment in Nerja Spain?

Tours Travel

Renting an apartment in Nerja is a good idea for those traveling to Spain, especially for those traveling as a couple, with the whole family or with a large number of friends. Here are some reasons why.

On the one hand, renting an apartment in Nerja means that you can fully enjoy the beaches of Nerja and its surroundings. The name Nerja actually comes from a Moorish word meaning ‘rich in water’ and the town certainly ranks up there as one of the most popular towns on Spain’s Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun). The best beach in Nerja is the award-winning Playa Burriana which, although a bit out of town, is the longest beach in Nerja, at around 800 meters in length. It also has the most modern tourist facilities, beach bars, cafeterias and restaurants.

Other beaches in Nerja include Playa Calahonda, Playa Torrecilla, Playa Cayetilla and Playa El Salón, while the beaches of Torre del Mar, Cotobro and Maro are not far away.

As well as being able to laze around on the sand all you want or enjoy moonlit walks by the sea, you will also be able to experience the other attractions that Nerja has to offer. You can drive through the old town, where you’ll feel like stepping into a time capsule, or stop at the Balcón de Europa, a promenade offering stunning views of the ocean, named for King Alfonso XII. The Cala Barranco de Maro and Paseo de los Carabineros also provide spectacular views, while the caves just outside of Nerja are another worthy attraction.

Nerja is not just an excellent tourist destination. It is also an excellent base for unforgettable day trips to the rest of the region. A short drive will take you to the charming town of Frigiliana, where you can take a break from the tourist crowds and sip the local wine, while the Sierra Nevada and Sierra Almijara mountains are just half an hour away. The former presents opportunities for skiing, while the latter has many scenic hiking trails.

The city of Malaga, the birthplace of the famous artist Pablo Picasso, known for its annual fair, is also not far away, while the city of Granada is an hour and fifteen minutes away. Granada is one of the most popular cities in Spain, thanks to its rich history and the Alhambra, one of the best examples of Moorish architecture in the world that served as the seat of the Nasrid Emirate. There are several other interesting monuments in Granada, along with impressive parks and gardens.

In fact, these serve as good reasons to rent an apartment in Nerja. In fact, it is even better to rent an apartment in Nerja than to stay in a hotel, especially if you are staying for a while. If you do, you will also be able to enjoy yourself more and spend more time with your family. Your children will especially love the larger space for them to run around in and some Nerja apartments are also pet friendly.
