Taking a look at the different types of satellite dishes

Legal Law

Satellite dishes are widely used in telecommunications, military, broadcasting, finance, public safety, energy resources, and many other areas. For the common person, the units are used at home, where they allow you to watch more TV stations. While the antennas look similar, they are of different types. These are the most common types:

motorized antenna

From its name, this is a unit that has a motor that allows it to rotate in different directions. Most of these units are controlled by remote control. This allows them to pick up many stations. In most cases, the units are larger than other satellites. They are recommended for people with limited space.

Main satellite feed

This is the most common unit you will find in most homes. It is basically a parabolic dish with a diameter of 1.4 meters and usually has a center mounted LNC facing outwards. While it looks beautiful, the dish does not receive many radio signals. This is because the LNC blocks many incoming signals.

stationary satellite

This is a non-motorized unit, so you have to physically turn it when you want it to face in a particular direction. They come in different sizes with larger dishes picking up more signals. Since the units are stationary, they pick up signals located in close proximity to each other.

offset antenna

This has the LNC located on the side of the satellite dish. Due to the location, it does not interfere with the signal path. This means that the unit picks up many signals. Image quality also tends to be high quality. In most cases, these units are smaller than the main feed satellites.

Compensated double antenna

The units are simply an improvement on the normal offset antenna. They are characterized by two plates. One antenna receives the signal while the smaller antenna picks up the signal and transfers it to the LNC. Since it has two dishes, this antenna is said to have an efficiency of 80%.

flat antenna

It is the most compact type of antenna since the LNC is located inside the dish of the antenna. Due to the location of the LNC, these units are ideal for people who live near the center of the satellite coverage area.

conclusion

These are some of the satellite dishes that you can choose from. When purchasing, make sure the units you purchase are suitable for your area.
