A review of the Corioliss Linea-Pro C2 straightening iron

Straightening hair is getting easier. Years ago we had to try and straighten our hair with irons with metal plates, and then technology came along to make hair straightening easier and faster. Then our hair straighteners came out in bright colors and ever fancier designs to make it fun. Has Corioliss combined technology and design and gone a step further with the launch of the Linea-Pro C2 iron?

Remember the girls of old when we struggled to straighten our hair using irons with metal plates? The iron was heavy; it was too cold or it burned your hair to a crisp; the plates were not smooth, so your hair was constantly snagged; and all the exercise took all night.

Then someone – I thank you from the bottom of my heart – discovered that the griddle plates would be better made of ceramic than metal. Ceramic is not only much smoother than metal, so your hair doesn’t snag, but it also emits something called “negative ions.” Now these little babies help to close the cuticle layer while you use the flat iron, to create a silky smooth hair surface and seal in the hair’s natural moisture. Suddenly straightening hair took less time, was much easier, and we could all look like Jennifer Aniston, at least in the hair department. Corioliss was among the first to manufacture ceramic plates. In fact, the company went a step further than most; Instead of just making the plates out of ceramic, Corioliss made the entire griddle out of it. The 1″ Corioliss Professional Flat Iron has become a best seller.

But you can never have too many ‘negative ions’, and it wasn’t long before someone coated the ceramic plate with something called tourmaline, which helps emit up to six times more ‘negative ions’ – hair straightening heaven. T3 flat irons led the way: the T3 Duality series is a great styling tool.

Well, after that burst of technology, everyone started taking a closer look at what the iron looked like. We end with more elegant models in many colors.

But just when design and technical improvements seemed to have come to a halt, Corioliss launched its Linea-Pro C2 range of plates.

First, let’s talk about technology: it’s cool what they can do these days.

The Linea-Pro C2 uses pure titanium plates so that “negative ions” can be produced in abundance. In fact, Corioliss C2 produces 30% more of them than any other iron that uses ceramic. And, if getting a massive amount of ‘negative ions’ wasn’t enough, Corioliss has used the latest nanotechnology to destroy 99.9% of bacteria while styling. I know, I know, you already washed your hair, but there is always some dirt and bacteria left behind; The more bacteria and dirt your hair has, the harder it will be to straighten and the less it will last.

Corioliss has wrapped all of this technology into a beautiful and elegant styling tool. The C2 iron really is different. Some of the colors available are; gold Silver; black; Zebra and Red Leopard (my favorite). There is also a limited edition C2 ‘Black Skull’.

You also get a funky, belt-clipped digital remote with adjustable temperature settings. A word of warning; In my opinion, the belt clip layout could have been designed a bit better, but it’s still a wonderful idea for keeping the controls away from the device.

No doubt about it; The Corioliss Linea-Pro C2 iron is a star and is setting the standard. Other manufacturers are now producing irons with titanium plates, Bellissima and Hoot Tools to name just two, but in my opinion none can match the C2 iron in terms of function and form.
