There are plenty of fun and easy crafts your kids can make for their dad on Father’s Day. For these crafts to be mentioned, the materials are inexpensive and require minimal parental supervision. A double bonus for the busy mom!

The first gift your son could give his dad on Father’s Day is a footprint of dough. 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of salt, and food coloring, and your child will have so much fun playing in this squishy concoction! Just make sure the dough is relatively hard and flattened about a half-inch thick before your child makes their handprint. Put in the oven for 2-3 hours at 200 degrees until fully cooked. Then let it cool so your child can decorate with markers and glitter. Then your child’s personalized gift from the heart is complete.

The next craft to make for Father’s Day is a hand-painted coffee cup. All you need is a ceramic coffee mug, porcelain enamel 150 (sold at craft stores), and watercolor brushes. This craft is quick and easy to do. After your child has decided how to decorate their dad mug, have them use the watercolor brush to apply the colored glaze onto their design. Let air dry for 24 hours before baking in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 325 degrees and voila!

A personalized t-shirt or boxer shorts also make a great gift for dad on Father’s Day. The materials needed are a cotton t-shirt or pair of underpants in the right size, a piece of cardboard, and any type of fabric paint or markers your child wants to use to make their pattern. To ensure that the t-shirt or boxer shorts do not bunch up and stain the paint on the fabric, it is recommended to insert the cardboard under the t-shirt and fix it with tacks. So let your child unleash his creativity! Just make sure it’s completely dry before you give it to his dad!

The final project your child could do is a picture collage. Ask your child to choose pictures they would like to use, or take new pictures and have them reveal them. Then use a tag board or piece of cardboard and ask your child to arrange the pictures however they see fit and glue them in place. As an added touch, your child could also use ribbon or glitter to decorate the edges of the collage. With a little help from mom, this project is sure to put a smile on any man’s face!

These crafts will not only keep your child busy, but also give them a sense of pride that they created something with their own hands for dad on Father’s Day!
