Nintendo GameCube was dedicated to improving gameplay while it used to be (and is still considered by some) the console of choice for multiplayer fun. Is it still there after all these years?
The short answer is yes, it still exists and many play it. This little console is no longer just for young children, while adults, as usual, pretending to do it only for their children, increasingly play these games. The Nintendo GameCube was Nintendo’s fourth home gaming system and it remains a remarkably well-designed system, both internally and externally.
It’s not a bad-looking console either, available in three different colors, purple, black, or platinum. It’s a powerful little thing, and being so it allows for a lot of cutting edge techniques. Although it has been more than six and a half years since this console was first released here in Europe, the Nintendo Gamecube is still as fun and entertaining as when it was first released.
The Nintendo GameCube is now, of course, not at the top of the Christmas list as it has been superseded by the Nintendo Wii as if you didn’t know it. The Nintendo GameCube was in full swing, one of the best gaming systems Nintendo had ever created and was once the number one selling game console in the United States.
Built-in features included fogging, sub-pixel smoothing, alpha blending, virtual texture design, multi-texture mapping, bump / environment mapping, MIPMAP, bilinear filtering, and real-time texture decompression (S3TC). Yes, I know, there is a lot to your time. Panasonic made a licensed version of the GameCube with DVD playback, called the Panasonic Q, and while it sold quite well, it certainly didn’t come close to the GameCube.
You will be interested to know that the controller in both its original wired and wireless versions WaveBird is compatible with Wii. The controller comes in four main colors: jet black, indigo, platinum (silver), and orange, all of which match the available colors of GameCube consoles.
Nintendo GameCube games, like Resident Evil 4, push the limits of hardware and look amazing, just like other games for this “old” console.
Is this console still available? You can bet, but let’s not pretend that he is still in his good day. The great Wii has gotten a hold of that, that’s for sure, but the good old Nintendo GameCube is still there in the background and enchants a lot of gamers.
