Palm Island: a testament to the ambition of modern Dubai

Tours Travel

Palm Island in Dubai is one of the true wonders of the modern world. A man-made island in the shape of a huge palm tree in the middle of the sea, seemingly built from nothing, Palm Island Jumeirah is one of the most breathtaking sights in the world, a true miracle of modern science and engineering, and a testament to the powers of ambition and dreams.

Palm Island was built by a Dubai property developer, Nakheel Properties, with the help of Belgian and Dutch experts in reclaiming land from the sea. There are three such artificial islands: Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira.

At the moment, Palm Jumeirah is the only complete island. The other two (Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira) are still in the process of being completed and are expected to be completed in the next 2-5 years.

The three Palm Islands will be home to miles of beaches, luxury resorts, upscale restaurants and shopping boutiques, and expensive villas and homes. Some of the world’s richest and most influential people have already reserved their homes on the Palm Jumeirah. Among your neighbors on this island, it is very possible that you will find Brad Pitt, George Clooney or James Cameroon. This is truly an exclusive company.

The key word for Palm Islands is “greatness”. With the completion of the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai showed the world that if you can dream, you can also create. Who would have believed that an island could be created in the sea, and that it was also shaped like a palm tree? Palm Jumeirah is only the first of the islands and it is also the smallest. The scale and size of the other two (Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira) will blow even the Palm Jumeirah out of water.

The Palm Jumeirah itself consists of 17 fronds (the various “branches” of the island of palm trees) and has a coastline of 78 kilometers. It will house more than 4,000 residences, whose reserves have already been exhausted. Atlantis, one of the largest and most luxurious resorts in the world, is located at the tip of the upper crescent.
