Shirtless Zac Efron talks to Rolling Stone

Arts Entertainments

Zack Efron, Hollywood’s new morning idol (or whatever his name is nowadays) is interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine, completely shirtless. Or, maybe not so shirtless. But anyway, here are some of the highlights from said interview with Disney’s rising stud of variety.

Zac Efron on Vanessa Hudgens

When asked what he has to say about Disney co-star Vanessa Hudgens, Zac says that “the weird thing that no one expected about Vanessa is that underneath such a sweet girl…she’s a very sexy woman.” In a different light, one would regard this as a very offhand comment. With analogies one could easily draw: Disney star during the day, taking wild nude photos at night.

In the silver ring she wears

He says that the silver ring is not, as many of us assume, an engagement ring. However, a colleague gave it to him. As for the name of this mystery girl who gave him the ring, Zac refuses to divulge any information about who she is. He says she would result in “chat room pandemonium and teen magazine hysteria.” As if we don’t already know that this mystery girl is Vanessa.

about the critics

Zac says that “it can’t even go on IMDB because I know a lot of it would be negative. It’s just depressing.” He says that “I know, for example, at my cousin’s school, there’s a club called I Hate Zac Efron Club. And I laughed hysterically when I heard that. I laughed because if there are people dedicated enough to make a club that I Hate, I have to be doing something right.”

As much as the logic of that statement is wrong, it also sounds pretty appealing. Being in denial can sometimes be healthy for celebrities.

about being famous

Zac talks about how the media tends to make a spectacle out of the personal lives of celebrities instead of reporting on the careers, achievements, and abilities of Hollywood stars.

He even goes on to comment on Mathew McConaughey, the eternally shirtless. Zac Efrons says that McConaughey has only helped make money for the tabloid industry for the past two years. Efron goes on to say that if Mathew wore a shirt and stayed away from paparazzi hotspots like beaches, paparazzi wouldn’t thrive as much as they do today.

But of course, all this said by another Hollywood stud in front of a magazine, half-naked. Zac Efron, be realistic. You are one more piece of meat for the consumption of the masses.
