Of course you don’t remember the Alamo, we couldn’t have been there. However, we have heard it throughout history and we know the meaning of the battle. It was a pivotal point in Texas history when Mexico launched a 12-day attack on the Alamo mission. On February 23, 1836, a group of 1,500 Mexican soldiers descended on what is now known as Texas to claim it as their own. After 12 days of skirmishing, Mexican troops made a third attempt to infiltrate the Alamo on March 6. This time they were successful and the Texian troops did not have the manpower and were unable to fight them.

On April 12 of that same year, the Texans launched a surprise attack on Fort Lynchburg where the Mexican military was taken by surprise and the battle was over in 18 minutes. The next day, Mexican President Santa Anna was captured and forced to ‘remember the Alamo’ and order Mexican troops out of the new republic now known as Texas.

The colorful Alamo themed chess set is a novelty game, like a time capsule that goes back to the 19th century and relives how Texas came to be.
