The top vertical post has hash marks called brackets. Each of these parentheses refers to a specific animal. All you need to do is rotate the magnification ring until the body of an animal appears between the bracket and the center of the reticle. There is another horizontal line that moves along the top vertical pole as the magnification changes. The vertical pole has numbers two through six, which refer to 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yards. When you have your game in parentheses, look at the top horizontal line. If you’ve stopped at number four, it means your game is 400 yards away. Now just use an appropriate aiming point to support yourself and make your shot.
As you can see, the system is very simple: lock up the animal and shoot. The price is really affordable for a scope with range estimation capability and a ballistic reticle.
To ensure that the Accu-Ranger reticle meets the requirements of each hunter, Redfield has designed four different types: Crossbow, Hunter, Sabot ML, and Varmint.
All of these reticles come with supports for 16 ″ and 25 ″ lenses, while the Varmint reticle features an 8 ″ mount. The 8 ″ holder can be used for prairie dogs or other similarly sized vermin. The 16 ″ stand will be fine for a deer, while the 25 ″ stand is designed for moose and coyotes.

The Accu-Ranger Sabot ML The reticle has the same estimation range as the Hunter reticle (200-600 yards) and is designed for muzzleloader and shotguns. However, its aiming points for bullet drop compensation are calibrated at ranges of 150, 200, 250, and 300. The center reticle is zeroed at 100 yards.
The Sabot ML reticle can be used with most speed cartridges. At high magnification settings this reticle works well with 45 caliber plastic tipped bullets (250 grain, 2200 fps).

The Accu-Ranger Varmint The reticle has an 8 “mount for prairie dogs, as well as 16” and 25 “mounts. This reticle works well with the flatter shot cartridges at speeds of 3100-4000 fps. The Varmint reticle is universal. You can use it for both vermin and big game hunting.
The Accu-Ranger Varmint reticle allows you to estimate distance and keep the dropped bullet up to 600 yards away.
