Celebrate your cat’s birthday with cat trees

Pets

Many pet owners hang stockings at Christmas for their dog or cat. Stockings are filled with bones or cat treats, little toys to play with, and sometimes a hideous sweater or two. If Christmas is cause for celebration, what about Kitty’s birthday too?

Manufacturers and retailers love to conjure up opportunities for Americans to spend money. Many say that Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and St. Patrick’s Day are overly commercialized in order to generate expense. While that may be debatable, it’s still a reason for pet parents who love to indulge their pets, birthdays (or adoption days) can be a great time to celebrate the furry friend in your life. After all, they offer so much love and affection, isn’t it nice to give something back?

Kittens will love the gift of cat trees no matter what the occasion. Cat trees fall into the mid-range classification of furniture designed specifically for cats (other styles are taller and some are smaller). Cat trees can be easily found at major mass and specialty pet stores, as well as through online websites.

If you’re ready to show your kitty how much you care, go ahead and buy some new cat trees. Be sure to shop around as they are available in numerous styles and configurations, and in many different materials. If your pet likes to scratch a lot, for example, look for a model with sisal or another kind of rough material wrapped around the vertical posts. If he likes to hunt, hide bits of catnip or pieces of dry kibble in the corners of the enclosures or in the folds of the hammock cloth.

While you certainly don’t need a special occasion to tell your cat “you’re my best friend,” her birthday or the day of her adoption may be important enough that investing in cat trees is easy to digest.
